What We're Doing in the Philadelphia:
- About 22% of Philadelphia residents are food insecure - the highest rate of food insecurity within the entire state of Pennsylvania and the highest among America's 10 largest cities. This problem is amplified by a lack of access to or knowledge about resources that are available. For Instance, approximately 159,000 people in Philadelphia qualify for SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps), but are not currently enrolled in the program
- There are several large food banks and nonprofits working in Philadelphia to chane these statistics. Please check our the following links for more information and ways that you can give back.
